Mission

To build and invest in infrastructure — systems, tools, models and artifacts — that will not only serve us, but outlive us.

Vision

For our own children to inherit a complete technological stack that is enshrined in the five fundamental properties which qualify generational infrastructure:

01 Minimal base layer It rests on a compact floor that is owned, not borrowed.
02 Provable integrity It can be verified against a fixed standard, with no permission and no relationship to the maker.
03 Inheritability A person who was not there when it was made should be able to understand both how to use and change it, and why it is made the way it is.
04 Credible exit There is always an extant, reachable path to use it with no intermediary or forced dependency.
05 Respect for agency It serves the people who use it. It honors — and doesn't seek to influence — their decisions.

Our story

We helped give birth to the first world computer, Ethereum. For us, it symbolizes an honest machine that is available in near-equal distribution to every person who seeks to use it. This serves as both our background and our north star.

If such deep human alignment could be sewn into a single virtual execution environment, could the same not be done for the rest of the stack? Technological pioneers, Alan Kay, Richard Stallman, John Perry Barlow, and others all long foresaw the possibility. We now humbly choose to pursue it.
