01What it is
SpacesOS is a declarative operating system built around spaces: ownable computing environments created from a specification rather than from a history of manual commands. A space is defined entirely by its specification, so it can be reproduced on any machine, moved between machines, and is owned by whoever holds its key.
Each root space can hold any number of isolated sub-spaces, which run as lightweight microVMs bound to the same private key. Data lives in signed, portable containers, and access is granted cryptographically. Local language models stand in for the command line: you describe what you want, and the model changes the space for you, always inside the permissions that space allows.
- Specification, not historyA space is defined by its specification, not by the commands that happened to build it.
- Isolated sub-spacesA root space holds any number of sub-spaces, run as lightweight microVMs.
- One private keySub-spaces are bound to the same key, and whoever holds it owns the space.
- Signed data containersData lives in signed, portable containers, not inside one package or platform.
- Cryptographic accessAccess is granted by keys, not by where a file happens to sit.
- Plain-language changesLocal models assemble, change or diagnose a space from a description in plain words.
